Alexandria Gay and Lesbian Community Association - Alexandria GLCA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, whose purpose is to work toward enhancing the quality of life for Gay men and Lesbians.

Arlington Gay and Lesbian Alliance - AGLA is a nonpartisan organization of Arlington, Virginia citizens committed to ensuring that Arlington County is a supportive and safe environment for its gay and lesbian citizens. AGLA activities are varied, but mostly fall in the following categories: political affairs, community service, and social events.

Brother Help Thyself - An all-volunteer charitable organization of the Leather/Levi Clubs of Washington and Baltimore.

Burgundy Crescent is a volunteer group which brings together GLBT singles and couples for volunteer activities that are social in nature.

Commonwealth Education Equality Virginia (CEEVA) - A statewide non-partisan organization committed to advocacy for the LGBTQ youth of the Commonwealth. We promote a message of acceptance for LGBTQ youth in Virginia and support the establishment of student organized Gay/Straight Alliances.

Dignity/USA is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered Catholics and their friends in over 80 chapters across the United States.

Equality Fairfax - A non-partisan organization that strives to improve the quality of life and meet the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community throughout Fairfax County.

Equality Virginia - Equality Virginia (formerly Virginians for Justice) is dedicated to the development and implementation of responsible, non-partisan public policy initiatives that advance the cause of equal justice for alll citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Ex-Gay Nomad - An ongoing study of Christianity and homosexuality with particular emphasis on the Ex-Gay Movement.

Families Like Mine - A web site dedicated to decreasing isolation for people who have parents who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered (GLBT).

Family Pride Coalition - (formerly Gay & Lesbian Parents Coalition International) -- A resource for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender parents, their partners and children, and supporters of our families.

Freedom to Marry Collaborative - A nationwide coalition committed to winning and keeping the freedom to marry for same-gender couples.

Free State Justice - Maryland's largest GLBT civil rights organization, fighting throughout the state to win equal right.

Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, D.C. - GLAA, an all-volunteer, non-partisan, non-profit political organization, was founded in 1971 to advance the equal rights of gay men and lesbians in Washington, DC. We are the nation's oldest continuously active gay and lesbian civil rights organization.

Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) - A national organization that promotes fair, accurate and inclusive representation as a means of challenging discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity.

Gay & Lesbian National Hotline (GLNH) - A national resource database offering information, referral and peer counseling on a toll-free line for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning people of all ages. Tel. 1-888-843-4564.

Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN) - The largest national organization that brings together teachers, parents, students, and concerned citizens to work together to end homophobia in our schools.

GayDC.net - A guide to Metro Wahington gay activities and communities.

GLSEN DC - The Metropolitan Washington DC chapter of GLSEN.

HeartStrong - A place for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students at religious schools.

Human Rights Campaign (HRC) - The largest national lesbian and gay political organization, envisions an America where lesbian and gay people are ensured of their basic equal rights -- and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.

Integrity/Virginia is a nonprofit organization composed of gay and lesbian Episcopalians and our friends, families, and supporters. We minister primarily in the Diocese of Virginia, which includes 185 or so congregations in and north of the James River in Richmond and east of the Appalachian Mountains.

Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund - The nation's oldest and largest legal organization working for the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, and people with HIV/AIDS.

Metropolitan Police Department Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit - GLLU is staffed by openly gay and lesbian members of the department and their allies. Since its inception in June 2000, the GLLU has dedicated itself to serving the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning/Curious (GLBTQ) communities in the Washington Metropolitan area and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPDC).

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force - The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) is a leading progressive civil rights organization that has supported grassroots organizing and advocacy since 1973.

Not the Only One is a website listing titles of Young Adult Literature (published between 1990-present) containing characters with lesbian and gay family members.

The P.E.R.S.O.N. Project - Public Education Regarding Sexual Orientation Nationally. The P.E.R.S.O.N. Project is an informal, national network of organizations and individuals working to ensure that fair, accurate, and unbiased information regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and about the nature and diversity of sexual orientation is presented to America's youth as part of public school education.

Religious Right - A comparison of Nazi anti-Jewish quotes and the anti-gay statements of the U.S. Religious Right.

Scouting for All is a nonprofit organization made up of scouts, adult leaders and concerned individuals outside of scouting dedicated to ending the discrimination of the Boy Scouts of America towards gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth and adults. Scouting For All also advocates that the Boy Scouts of America end its discrimination against girls and atheists.

Service Academy Gay and Lesbian Alumni (SAGALA) - A gay and lesbian alumni organization for the five U.S. service academies—West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, the Coast Guard Academy, and the Merchant Marine Academy.

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network - The sole national legal aid and watchdog organization that assists servicemembers hurt by the Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Pursue policy.

Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (SMYAL) - A youth service agency serving the metropolitan area of Washington, DC, including Maryland and Northern Virginia, our mission is to support and enhance the self-esteem of sexual minority youth - any youth (13-21) who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (lgbt), or who may be questioning their sexuality - and to increase public awareness and understanding of their issues.
